The Digital Divide = More Tax Laws

Labor’s proposal, which will operate from July 1 next year if the party wins the election, would enable parents to make a one-off claim against the value of a laptop or PC if it was bought outright. If the computer was leased, parents would be able to make a claim for the rebate against the [...]

Days 8 & 9

It’s now the earliest part of Day 9, and the Newspoll is in: Labor leads the Coalition on a Two-Party Preferred basis, 58% to 42%.
That is landslide territory. The Coalition is in danger of being reduced to a stump. It will happen to the Coalition the way it happened to the CLP in the NT. [...]

1001 to 1

Those are my current odds at CentreBet. I might fling a few bucks down on myself — it’d be a nice bonus!

Looking for Feedback

So my campaign uberlegends and I are working on a flyer to distribute throughout the seat over the next 5 weeks. Here’s a draft we’ve knocked up. I’d be interested in getting feedback.

And Speaking of Blame

Solomon Labor candidate Damian Hale said Palmerston residents are “sick and tired of hearing the blame game”.

“It’s the Federal Government’s fault. They have put nowhere near enough money in the project,” he said.
Nicely done, Damien.

A health statement

So here we are in the second week. Andrew Dittmer from the Darwin & Palmerston Sun has been asking candidates to supply policy remarks on a different topic each week of no more than 250 words. Here’s my brief statement:
Healthcare is in crisis.
Waiting lists for elective surgery rise, beds fill up, emergency departments are overflowing. [...]

The Debate Taken Seriously.

Televised debates have incorrectly chosen opposition leaders as best-of-show every time John Howard has fronted up to one. The Worm routinely hates his guts. Last night through the genius of the folk who also bring you StumpCam, the Worm demonstrated its love for Kevin Rudd. I wouldn’t be too upset if I were Howard: the [...]

Working Families Win The Debate

If you’re a working family, then John and Kevin have worked in family way to work on family matters for working families. If the whole family is working, I guess Mr & Mrs Working Family will get a visit from child protection soon to work their family over.  Working families.

Days 5, 6 & 7

Mostly spent these past few days organising. Today we had an excellent sit down and thrashed out how many people I’ll need, and where, plus what can be done to get into the papers, radio and TV a bit more.
Also, Labor’s press release accusing me of great and terrible evils has surfaced online via Adam [...]

Disgusting Cynicism

Kevin Rudd has revealed his true colours: He’s Howard 2.0. All the pizazz that Howard 1.0 lacks plus all the cynical, shameless, uneconomic, grubby bribery of the original.
Kevin thinks the government should give people back their money in the form of subsidised PCs. I’m surprised he didn’t thrown in some game consoles and plasma TVs.
It [...]
